The Studio D'Artisan 5697 Kyoto Black Kurozome Dyed Workshirt is a limited collection piece produced in an exclusive 14 oz. Japanese Sashiko cloth for an all-natural, style-forward heritage collector's item. Kyoto Black dyeing methods date to the 9th century Heian period and were favored for samurai garments. They are now achieved by the nationally recognized Montsuki using binroji nuts in a repeated garment dip dying process to deeply saturate and layer black dye over the fabric. This rare technique is applied to an all-season heavyweight Japanese woven sashiko cloth utilized in martial arts garments for its unique multi-directional flexibility and textured weave with knit-like properties to create a comfortable and luxurious piece. The Studio D'Artisan Workshirt has a classic slim fit that works for various body types, and signature details are elevated from vintage originals like buttoned chest pockets and double button barrel cuffs, finished with custom Kyoto black tagua nut buttons. Studio D'Artisan Shirting is generally true to measured chest size. The Kyoto Black Sashiko Workshirt runs on the small side of SDA shirting sizing and is made with a sanforized, once washed fabric with most shrinkage removed.  For normal wearing and fit preference, consider going up one size from measured chest.
