New Releases from Viberg
As you are hopefully aware, up to this date all of our footwear offerings have been collaborations completely exclusive to Division Road. That's right, all of them. However, for this week's release we are pleased to make an exception in order to present an outstanding offering to our clients with our expected trademark rarity.
Over the last few years, Viberg has transitioned from having smaller, regular releases into developing full fledged seasonal collections true to their hallmarked formula of being distinct, simple, and strong as they progress as a company and brand. Brett Viberg has advanced these collections by working closely with tanneries to reproduce archive articles and limited batch lots for one-off make-ups in small ranges that relate to the complete collection in terms of palette, style, and use to create collectable and storied staples.
While we have a decidedly collaborative position on footwear, these seasonal collections are exceptionally strong and the pieces are still so limited that we had to represent, and provide our clients the opportunity to add these singular styles to their personal rotations. Thus, we present two signature, limited run styles of the SS20 Drop 1 collection, as we stand as proud partners with this producer of some of the finest handgrade rebuildable footwear in the marketplace.
Viberg Navy Oiled Calf Derby Shoe
For a Derby that will dress up with casual comfort, we bring you the French Navy Oiled Calf from Charles F.Stead. The black-based obsidian navy leather was sourced from the stacks of this century old Northern England Tannery and recreated in an aniline dyed and oiled recipe on hand-selected calfskins. This leather is re-tanned with vegetable extracts to provide structure and finishing for pull-up qualities and a durable flexibility. The natural matte finish will subtly evolve to perfectly correspond to the anatomically advanced shape of the 2020 Last in a stable and gripped fit for firm function. Contrasted with brass eyelets, a natural leather storm welt and midsole atop the versatile Dainite sole, the result is a foundational footwear piece that's been evolved for every fellow.
Viberg Natural Japanese Cowhide Service Boot
In addition, we present a Service Boot designed to patina to perfection in the Natural Cowhide from Tochigi Leather. A champion of cowhide vegetable tanning in Japan, Tochigi produced this batch of leather for Viberg through their slow tanning techniques for a supple glove-like feel in a heavy weight hide with a naturally air dried shrunken grain. This undyed hide is enhanced with pit tanning and hand oiled at multiple stages to retain a textured leather that will develop a dramatic character. In the classic and cultivated 2030 Last for a dress shape with a substantial form, this tonally coordinated Service Boot comes with antique brass eyelets, a natural leather midsole, and a tan Itshide studded sole for a golden standout style ready to relate your journey with collectable class.
