Description

The Olive Archive Check Madras Button Down from Gitman Vintage is made from a lightweight 100% Cotton cloth loomed in Japan with slub yarns for a subtle texture and innovative take on an archival pattern and palette. The Madras fabric was popularized during the 1960s by the Baby Boom generation's Ivy school style. It is known for its natural color evolutions for that worn-in casual look that will become softer and perfectly faded with repeated wearing and washes. Our modern short-length button-down collar comes replete with Gitman's original details like chalk buttons, locker loop, and a final horizontal button hole in green thread. This shirt is produced in the new modern slim fit with a slightly less dramatic hem sweep and straighter body as a variation to the signature fit that remains the same tailored "just right" cut for most body types. Gitman Vintage shirts are classic, simple, original, and have a casual sophistication, making them a standard wardrobe piece for many well-dressed men. We are unique in our offerings of Gitman Vintage by neck sizing for all you gents who are between alpha sizes — you now have the opportunity for a perfectly fitting Gitman right out of the box.

Today, Gitman Bros. is one of the last remaining American shirt makers with all manufacturing still based in the USA. Created with materials from mills in the US, Europe, and Japan and sewn by experienced craftspeople, history... View All Gitman Vintage Products
