Description

The White's x Division Road CF Stead New Rosewood Unicorn MP Sherman is a 6" pattern that honors the rich history of Otto White's footwear production for military serviceman and is based on WWII infantry field and officer dress boots. This MP Sherman comes with a plain toe and a split counter panel and back stay design for a clean composition that will offer daily duty in a modern world from the office to the outdoors. This White's collaboration uses a Division Road exclusive New Rosewood Unicorn produced by the storied C.F. Stead, known for making some of the finest leathers in the world. The Unicorn is an aniline dyed combination re-tannage using hand-selected wild Scandinavia Elk hides that are subtly sanded for a nubuck finish that reveals the remarkable grain characteristics, then treated with a wax coating in the tanning process that yields a matte finish with an added layer of protection to an already robust, yet flexible leather. This boot is designed in collaboration with Master Shoemaker and now CEO, Eric Kinney, to hallmark the quintessentially Northwest multi-paneled upper that allows for comprehensive rebuilds and pairs with White's exclusive stitchdown construction tradition using their unique hand-sewn and all-leather builds, all refined with our functional design approach that honors the original craftsmanship, history, and lifetime durability with a fresh perspective. This MP Sherman uses the 5050 Last in an accommodating E width that was designed to combine the sleek, classic almond toe dress shape of the MP Last with the more moderate profile, higher heel, and trademark Arch-Ease support of the 55 Last, yielding a sophisticated military-dress aesthetic to a fully functional work boot. We exclusively enhanced White's hand-sewn welted methods with a tonally corresponding Natural CXL welt to match the natural finished leather midsole and block heel, set atop the Split Commando Sole providing high traction, flexibility, and longevity in all terrains, combined with a single row hand-sewn stitchdown to allow greater comfort and a clean aesthetic for the long haul. Finally, this exclusive MP Sherman comes with a half bellows tongue, brass eyelets, and is finished with a custom White's collar stamp and WB x DR collaboration insole stamp for refined elements on a rugged make. Made as a hallmark to White's unaltered, hand-sewn traditions and customized to Division Road specifications, this MP Sherman has a polished aesthetic for urban environs, built for all conditions in the outdoors.

    Notes

This is a hand-sewn, hand-welted stitchdown workwear boot made to withstand a lifetime in challenging conditions, with a focus on durability first. Irregularity is indicative of this rare boot-making process, and as such, each pair is unique. We suggest our customers embrace the character, hand-grade details, and variation of this footwear, as that is what makes it special. This product is not for those seeking a highly refined or lighter-weight build. For more information on White's production, see our White's Factory Tour.

    Sizing

White's sizing is consistent to our old grade manufacturers and the 5050 Last in an E Width typically is equal to a White's 55 Last, Viberg, or Tricker's for most feet. Generally when sizing for White's, we suggest you select a half (.5) size down from a common US boot like Red Wing or Alden, or one-and-a-half (1.5) sizes down from a common US sneaker like Nike or New Balance.

    About White's

The White’s legacy began in 1853 when Edward White created a solo boot making venture in pre-Civil War Connecticut shoeing loggers and soldiers. In 1910, John’s son Otto grew the family business into the White Shoe Company based in Spokane, Washington. The White family built a reputation for producing... View All White's Products
