Viberg Shelby Sharp Brogue Boot - 2030 - Commando - Dark Cognac Shell Cordovan
The Viberg x Division Road Shelby Sharp Brogue Boot is based on classically detailed British footwear with a turn-of-the-century dress aesthetic crafted with an outdoor build. This dutiful downtown design contains a higher quarter with a back stay over counter construction influenced by a vintage officer boot pattern. This military dress iteration of our Peaky Blinders-inspired collaborations befits the evolved character, story, and era of Thomas Shelby and utilizes a Dark Cognac Shell Cordovan for a limited single release in this rare and prized material. Shell is the fibrous muscle from the hind area of a horse that lays directly below the hide, which yields a durable material that will patina with dramatic color changing properties while retaining the indicative shell shine. This Shell is Cordovan tanned by Horween, the finest producer of this rare material, through a low-yield process that takes over six months to complete. The shell is steeped in vegetable liquors, hot stuffed and slicked, then dried on individual glass frames and hand cured and shaved to expose the natural qualities of the shell. Next, it's dyed individually and by hand with a deep aniline finish, and finally hand glazed to produce the high gloss finish characteristic of the world’s best Cordovan. Our Shelby Sharp pattern has an exclusive treatment of pinking on the quarter and counter in addition to a brogue cap toe and back stay that hallmarks English detailing and is formed on the 2030 Last for an elegant silhouette. To follow an officer-turned-gangster story line in a turn-of-the-century aesthetic, we implemented the appropriate specifications throughout with antique brass eyelets, French binding, and a natural leather 360 storm welt and midsole atop a British-made Goodyear Commando sole for maintaining steady footing in all terrains, from cobblestone streets to the battlefields. Setting the bar even higher, this boot leverages Goodyear welting using traditional techniques coupled with channeled insoles produced by Viberg's exacting craftspeople, resulting in a piece that will outlast the competition through every season and skirmish, while looking as sharp as a Shelby blade.
