Viberg Service Boot - 2030 - Dainite - Ebony Unicorn
The Ebony Unicorn Service Boot is an updated interpretation of Viberg’s original work boot, designed by company founder Edwin Viberg in 1931 and inspired by a standard issue military boot pattern used by several nations during WWII. This Division Road exclusive version utilizes the venerable Unicorn leather tanned in the UK by the storied C.F. Stead, known for making some of the finest waxed wild animal hides in the world. This chocolate colored Ebony Unicorn is an aniline dyed Scandinavian Elk leather with subtly sanded grain for a nubuck finish that reveals the remarkable characteristics unique to these animals and allows the impregnated oils to come to the surface for remarkable pull-up qualities. The hides are then treated with a subtle wax coating in the tanning process to yield a rich and distinct matte finish that provides additional protection to an already robust and pliable leather. To hallmark signature Viberg styles of the past using a specific formula to produce a classic aesthetic with a modern sensibility, we utilized the ever-popular 2030 Last for a sophisticated silhouette, paired with a brogue cap toe, antique brass eyelets, and a natural leather midsole atop a wet and dry traction British made Dainite sole. Fully assembled with traditional stitchdown construction by Viberg's exacting craftsmen, this footwear staple manages to fuse current and past eras with a clean and timeless palette that will command attention and develop a refined character. The Ebony Unicorn Service Boot is a hallmark Viberg collaboration, designed to be a versatile style piece that will fit into a wide range of modern wardrobes while standing proud within any collection.
