Viberg Scout Boot - 2040 - Vibram 2060 - Saddle Tan Chromepak
The Scout Boot inspiration was taken from the iconic Viberg 105 logger that debuted in the 1950’s and is still in production today. Modified slightly from the original pattern to include a 6” height adjustment, the Scout Boot is an excellent combination of woodsman comfort and urban ruggedness that aficionados hold as one of their favorite styles. This Division Road exclusive version utilizes Horween’s famous Chromepak, which is derived from a full-Chrome version of an original pull-up recipe composed of an assortment of century-old techniques, materials, and finishes that yield a remarkably durable, flexible, and rare leather. Chromepak involves hand-selecting hides that can manage the highest impregnation of oils and beeswax possible to produce a leather with unbelievable pull-up qualities in which one can see the waxes and oils move throughout with wear, while constantly renewing itself and revealing grain characteristics. We utilized the Munson-based 2040 Last with an unstructured toe that slightly lowers the profile while retaining both the military boot silhouette and excellent fit for most foot types. Taking inspiration from aviator boots and evolving this logger-based pattern to the next level, we tonally corresponded paint brown eyelets to the leather while establishing contrast with a flexible and storm ready 360 black leather welt atop the black Vibram 2060 sole for forest trekking with a street-savvy style. Produced by Viberg's exacting craftsmen using traditional Goodyear welting coupled with channeled insoles, this boot will last a lifetime in the harsh conditions in which it is designed to conquer, conveying both vintage and modern sensibilities in a clean palette that will develop a refined character specific to its travels. In a redux of our Tonal Traveler series, this Saddle Tan Chromepak Scout Boot will become a daily statement style staple within anyone's rotation, boasting a rugged build perfect for the gent who embraces the journey from city life to the back woods.
