Viberg Scout Boot - 2030 - Vibram Gloxi - Grey Calico Smooth
The Scout Boot inspiration was taken from the iconic Viberg 105 logger which debuted in the 1950’s and is still in production today. Modified slightly from the original pattern to include a 6” height adjustment, this boot is an excellent combination of woodsman comfort and urban ruggedness that aficionados hold as one of their favorite styles. Once used as a stock Viberg leather but now out of production, this Grey Calico by Horween was used exclusively on the roughout side, and hence it was not finished on the smooth side. After Viberg found a deadstock batch hiding at the factory just for us, we decided the Grey Calico should make its final appearance on the smooth side as it had all of the properties we were looking for in a tonal traveler. Referred to as a nude leather it is un-dyed and unfinished and thus will darken, stain, and embrace patina quickly. Using the 2030 last on the Scout pattern in order to give it a sleek silhouette, we paired it with the grey Vibram Gloxi-Cut sole to provide full traction and comfort in a variety of terrain and weather conditions. The additions of a natural midsole and stitchdown construction highlight a fully functioning boot with a tonal palette that manages to convey both vintage and modern sensibilities. This boot will inevitably result in a refined weathered look that will be specific to its travels. Make them yours and begin your journey.
