Viberg LXR Boondocker - 2055 - Commando - Shinki Black Horsebutt

LXR Boondocker - 2055 - Commando - Shinki Black Horsebutt

The Viberg x Division Road LXR Black Shinki Horsebutt Boondocker is a foundational piece to the Luxe Ranch Capsule Collection that tailors military and workwear influences into a refined, modern wardrobe for the Original Gentleman. Based on an interpretation of the standard issue WWII US Navy Boot commonly known as the N-1 Field Shoe, similar to the 1943 US Army Type III Boot, Viberg's Boondocker is adapted by using the appropriate vintage Service Boot pattern along with adding the original heavy-duty quadruple quarter and triple counter stitching. This Luxe Ranch limited release has a sophisticated take on this military inspiration with a limited batch, full-grain vegetable-tanned Black Horsebutt with a natural core from the venerable Shinki Tannery in Japan that specializes in hand finished horse hides. This Horsebutt has been pit tanned, causing the leather to become more dense while accentuating the uncorrected grain, then hand oiled through the tanning, glazing, and finishing process to intensify the natural characteristics of the leather and provide enhanced flexibility. This material features shell-like durability and shine while allowing an ebonized patina to develop as the dye diminishes over time to reveal the natural core below on this grain heavy and slickly finished black boot that will conform to the foot when challenged in all conditions. Further elevating the military archetype, we utilized the recently developed 2055 Last, which has a lower-profiled silhouette in an accommodating Munson-based fit that provides refinement to the original Boondocker shape. This neo-classic collaboration is advanced with historically informed heavy-weight upper stitching in a tonal black, brass eyelets, a black horsehide bellows tongue, and a natural leather midsole atop an appropriate Goodyear commando sole. With each piece carefully assembled by exacting Viberg craftsmen using stitchdown construction, this LXR Black Shinki Horsebutt Boondocker is perfect for those looking to take on the trials of the day and endure the terrain in a collectable, heard-wearing boot.
