Viberg IVY Street Bobcat - 2030 - Commando – Wheat Nubuck Roughout
The IVY Street Bobcat Boot was taken from an original workboot pattern developed by founder Ed Viberg, which debuted in the 1960’s and is still in production today. While rarely used in the contemporary Viberg collection, it’s one of the earliest adapted styles by Brett Viberg. Given the Bobcat's heritage background as a workboot pattern and era appropriateness for the Ivy Street collection, Viberg and Division Road re-invented it with the 90's era color correct Wheat Nubuck from a specialty tannery in the United States, but on the Roughout side to give a ruggedness that speaks to its outdoor roots. Taking the reinterpreted production further, we utilized the old Viberg banner logo stamp on the quarters, a full grain fully gusseted tongue in Crust CXL for industrial level durability, combined with brass eyelets and a natural midsole for a tonal aesthetic and resilient build. The boot is formed on the popular 2030 last, which creates a streamlined silhouette contrasted with a prominent Goodyear commando sole and stitchdown construction assembled by Viberg's exacting craftsmen. Finally, the piece is topped off with two sets of rawhide laces to tie in the boot’s rugged and historical design. The result is a familiar and classic look but re-engineered to the highest standards of footwear production. Its sleek profile paired with an old-school pattern built to workwear specifications makes these boots wholly unmatched in their ground-up recreation. Presented with the IVY Street collection's embroidered monogram bootleg patch, these limited and exclusive Bobcats blend influences from singular movements of the past to present an elevated perspective on a piece designed for the Ivy Street with heritage quality to inspire generations, old and new.
