Viberg Chelsea Boot - 2030 - Ridgeway - Shinki Black Latigo Horsehide
Description
The Viberg x Division Road Black Shinki Latigo Horsehide Chelsea Boot is a Victorian-era style that has evolved over several centuries and the perfected version from the Viberg collection gives a nod to the 60’s mod scene along with contemporary fashions. After a number of variations in development, acquiring specialty machinery and instituting new production techniques, Viberg created the exceptional high Chelsea whole cut upper pattern with a formed shaft to set their version apart as a more functional boot for the outdoors while maintaining a level of refinement absent in other renditions. This exclusive-to-Division Road Chelsea Boot uses a limited batch, full-weight, vegetable-tanned Latigo Horsehide from the venerable Shinki Tannery in Japan that specializes in hand-finished horse hides. This naturally drum dyed Horsehide has been mimosa bark tanned and air dried, causing the leather to become more dense while accentuating the uncorrected grain, and is then hand oiled and waxed through the glazing and finishing process to intensify the natural characteristics of the leather and provide flexibility. The new Chelsea 2030 Last maintains the riding boot silhouette while proving a more accommodating fit with a military-dress disposition. This high Chelsea comes countryside-ready with sleek tonal specifications throughout including a black elastic gusset and fabric pull loop with a black leather 360 storm welt and midsole atop a British-made Ridgeway sole to provide lug traction in a discerning design with rugged applications. Setting the bar even higher, this boot leverages Goodyear welting using traditional techniques coupled with channeled insoles produced by Viberg's exacting craftspeople, resulting in a lifetime piece that will withstand the elements in a distinctive style that will evolve for the modern-leaning and vintage-inspired alike.
