Viberg Bernhard Chukka - 2030 - Vibram 2060 - Ebony Latigo
The Bernhard Chukka Boot is a new style to the Viberg line-up based on a rare vintage 1920’s style in Brett Viberg’s personal collection. After numerous variations on the pattern and extensive sampling, this style was perfected and then dedicated to the founder, Edwin Bernhard Viberg, as a way to pay homage to the pre-depression era and the circumstances that lead to the company’s founding. The Bernhard is a true style contradiction: it holds fast to its original form from early in the last century with a reverse seam on the quarter and a set-in overlay on the vamp, yet is one of the most modern looking Chukka’s you’ll find. Ebony Latigo leather by Horween is used, which undergoes an extensive combination chrome then vegetable tanning process wherein the leather is infused with a special concoction of oils, waxed, and then fat liquored to give it durability and a natural finish. This boot utilizes the popular 2030 last that lends a sleekly-shaped silhouette paired with the Vibram 2060 sole to highlight a fully functioning boot with a timeless aesthetic and palette. Goodyear welted by Viberg craftsman, with a natural flat welt and midsole create a Chukka that exudes that old-school yet innovative look your Grandpa would have rocked. This all-purpose low top boot will be in regular rotation within your own collection.
