The French Work Trouser by MotivMfg x Division Road is a high-rise, single-pleated pant with a roomy top block and thigh that tapers to a moderate hem and a clean break. This tailored, modern take on straight-leg workwear trousers from the early 20th century is perfectly balanced in design to be a wardrobe staple for an Original Gentleman. This trouser is produced in a luxurious, textured, and sophisticated Black Coal 10 oz. Heavy Irish Linen that is one of the finest suiting grade 100% Linen cloths in the world, revered by designers for its durability, structure, and featherweight feel. This dutiful Linen is produced by Ireland's prized Spence Bryson® mill, established in 1891 and remaining the gold standard, using only the highest quality flax fibers and traditional wet spinning methods to yield refined, high-density yarns for warm weather tailoring fabrics that will gracefully patina and evolve to match the shape of the wearer. Paying homage to the original with a finished sophistication, this trouser is designed with a single knife pleat for optimal fit and drape, and is given a clean button front with large tacked belt loops that serve as vintage elements with modern refinement. The French Work Trouser is packed with superior bespoke and old-world detailing like slant front pockets, workwear-inspired patch back pockets, a darted back yoke, zigzag bartack reinforcements throughout, and custom, genuine mother-of-pearl buttons with a polished finish to embody turn-of-the-century craftsmanship.
