The French Work Trouser by MotivMfg x Division Road is a high rise, single pleated pant with a roomy top block and thigh that tapers to a moderate hem and a clean break for a tailored, modern take on straight leg workwear trousers from the early 20th century that's perfectly balanced in design to be a wardrobe staple for an Original Gentleman. This trouser is made in a limited bolt, heavyweight 18 oz. Walnut Brown Tweed Twill weave produced at the 200-year-old original Somerset mill by the world-famous Fox Brothers® using the finest 100% British Merino Wool in a worsted, suiting grade fabric engineered for the outdoors. Since 1772, Fox Brothers has produced top-tier textiles used in many applications, from Savile Row tailoring to British Military garments. By sourcing the best fibers from around the world and using intensive hand-driven milling and cording processes, they produce fabrics of the highest grade with comfort, density, and durability, all wrapped into one. This incredibly flexible and robust twill wool comes in a natural palette to reflect the Devon coast countryside transitioning into the Exmoor wilderness it's designed to confront. It boasts a complex cloth using yarns dyed in chocolate, brown, and camel shades for a refined aesthetic and luxuriously textured finish. Paying homage to the originals with a finished sophistication, this trouser is fully lined with a cotton and Tencel twill for comfort and flexibility, designed with a single knife pleat for optimal fit and drape, and is given a clean button front with large tacked belt loops that serve as vintage elements with modern refinement. The French Work Trouser is packed with superior bespoke and old-world detailing like slant front pockets, workwear-inspired patch back pockets, a darted back yoke, zigzag bartack reinforcements throughout, and custom genuine ebony horn buttons that have a unique matte finish. MotivMfg has re-established a pattern-to-bespoke garment, one-roof workshop in Beijing with the ethos, process, techniques, and materials of Savile Row to produce historically informed garments in styles and production methods lost by the West.
