Description

The French Shooting Jacket by MotivMfg x Division Road is designed as a meeting point between dutiful mid-century European hunting garments and tailored outerwear pieces made for the future. This piece is derived from a 1930's French hunting jacket, completely re-created in an anatomically tailored fit with raglan sleeves, a two-piece storm hood, an asymmetrical 4-button front along with ergonomic pocketing and trims, all made in a durable material that epitomizes the originals with a more luxurious drape and feel for a piece perfectly balanced between vintage and contemporary that will complement any expedition. This jacket is made in a refined 10 oz. Donegal Tweed produced by the storied Abraham Moon mill from 100% British Shetland Wool in a traditional plain weave woolen that provides a pronounced texture, variable palette, and natural elasticity to a fabric made for the countryside and workwear conditions. Produced by one of the few remaining vertical mills, Moon produces this special tweed with an authentic Kilcarra slub yarn spun in Ireland that is thick and durable, creating an earthy grey-to-black speckled coloration and texture that's perfect to scout and trek the outdoors. This French Shooting Jacket is designed as an unlined, fully utilitarian outerwear or layering piece with a dimensional fit from body to sleeve utilizing articulated wool ribbed cuffs that combine with a buttoned flap front patch chest pocket and wide welt hand pockets to provide function in an elevated style for any hunt or journey. Paying homage to the originals with sophistication, this jacket utilizes a high-density Japanese Cotton/Nylon Canvas that's weather and wind-resistant for the buttoned shooting patch that can be buttoned over or under the front placket closure along with elbow patches, storm hood facing, and pocket trim. Further, this piece is packed with superior bespoke and old world detailing like heavyweight flax rope drawcord with Italian acetate keepers for hood and hem adjustment, genuine ebony horn buttons that have been sanded for a unique vintage matte finish, along with serged, felled and tailor taped seams paired with bartack reinforcements throughout. MotivMfg has re-established a pattern-to-bespoke garment one-roof workshop in Beijing with the ethos, process, techniques, and materials of Savile Row to produce historically informed garments in styles and production methods lost by the west. We are honored to partner with MotivMfg to offer completely exclusive collaborations for a new and timeless uniform for the Division Road Army.
