The English P60 Combat Jacket by MotivMfg x Division Road is designed as a meeting point between dutiful mid-century European military garments and tailored outerwear pieces made for the future. This piece is derived directly from the 1960's British Combat Smock, reproduced in an evolved fabric and anatomically tailored fit with set-in sleeves, darted front and back body, and pleated back shoulder to allow for movement in a draped, luxury-centric piece perfectly balanced between vintage and contemporary. This jacket is made in a 14 oz. Marling & Evans® Hopsack cloth that uses highly twisted 50% British Wool and 50% European Flax Linen yarns in a double basketweave pattern to produce an amazingly dutiful and flexible material. One of England’s oldest mills dating to 1782, Marling & Evans®, produced this box-weave woolen with a pronounced texture, luxurious finish, and amazing form to be a breathable fabric that will perform in a variety of conditions and climates throughout the year. This English P60 Combat Jacket is designed with a zipped and buttoned storm placket front, point collar with reinforced stitching and under collar buttoned throat latch, an interior waist adjustment using heavy gauge flax rope and Italian acetate keepers that allow for versatility, function, and style in a lined and finely finished piece. Paying homage to the original with sophistication, this jacket has beautifully shaped and utilitarian pocketing like buttoned flap chest patch pockets including a gusseted pen pocket for use in the field, lower flap front storm pockets that are gusseted to house plenty of modern armaments, along with functional design refinements like articulated sleeves and elbow patches that transform into a gusseted and buttoned cuff. Further, this jacket is packed with superior bespoke and old-world detailing like interior chest and map pockets, flat felled seams, bartack reinforcements throughout, and impressive custom burnished gun metal buttons cast in the shape of the melamine military originals. MotivMfg has re-established a pattern-to-bespoke garment one-roof workshop in Beijing with the ethos, process, techniques, and materials of Savile Row to produce historically informed garments in styles and production methods lost by the west. We are honored to partner with MotivMfg to offer completely exclusive collaborations for a new and timeless uniform for the Division Road Army.

    About MotivMfg

Created in Beijing by Daniel Gu, designer from a three-generation tailoring family, and Samuel Wei, a pioneering heritage retailer, MotivMfg seeks to break down the duality between handmade and machine-made clothing and to create garments stemmed from pre-industrial production methods, which are designed in a way that relates to present day. Based in a Beijing loft of a former factory built in the 1950s, all developments from sketch to garment are done within the MotivMfg studio. Using European tailoring methods...
