The English Hunt Work Jacket by MotivMfg x Division Road is designed as a meeting point between tailored and dutiful industrial era blazers used as workwear and countryside hunting jackets. This piece is derived from 1920's sack jacket patterns and re-designed with an anatomically tailored fit with a single back piece folded into shape to provide structure and form, in the same type of durable material that epitomized the originals, with the goal of creating a cut perfectly balanced between vintage and contemporary. This jacket is made in a 20 oz. Exmoor Herringbone Overcoating Cloth that's one of the finest suiting grade worsted wool fabrics engineered for the outdoors while maintaining a sophisticated aesthetic and finish. Since 1772, Fox Brothers has produced top tier textiles used in a multitude of applications, from Savile Row tailoring to British Military garments. By sourcing fibers locally and using intensive hand-driven milling and cording processes, they produce fabrics of the highest grade with comfort, density, and durability all wrapped into one. This English Hunt Work Jacket is designed with a rolling 5-button front to allow for dress-to-outerwear versatility, function, and style with a cotton canvas half-lined body for a structured shape and optimal drape, with Bemberg lined sleeves and a functional button cuff for practical refinement. Paying homage to the originals but elevated with outerwear sophistication with articulated water dyed Japanese Calf elbow patches, this jacket has beautifully shaped and utilitarian pocketing like a patch front chest pocket, two front welted patch pockets with flaps that will tuck in for different formats and functions, along with three interior buttoned canvas patch pockets for the tools of your trade. Further, this piece is packed with superior bespoke and old world detailing like taped and felled seems, zigzag back collar stitching, bartack reinforcements throughout, and genuine ebony horn buttons that have been sanded for a vintage finish. MotivMfg has re-established a pattern-to-bespoke garment one-roof workshop in Beijing with the ethos, process, techniques, and materials of Savile Row to produce historically informed garments in styles and production methods lost by the west. We are honored to present these exclusive patterns adapted in every way as a new and timeless uniform for the Division Road Army.

Created in Beijing by Daniel Gu, designer from a three-generation tailoring family, and Samuel Wei, a pioneering heritage retailer, MotivMfg seeks to break down the duality between handmade and machine-made clothing and to create garments stemmed from pre-industrial production methods, which are designed in a way that relates to present day. Based in a Beijing loft of a former factory built in the 1950s, all developments from sketch to garment are done within the MotivMfg studio. Using European tailoring methods...
