The English Dress Hunt Jacket by MotivMfg x Division Road from the Royal Cavalry Regiment capsule collection is designed as a meeting point between tailored officer riding and dutiful industrial era workwear blazers, perfectly balanced in design to be a wardrobe staple for an original gentleman. This piece is derived from 1920's sack jacket patterns and re-designed with an anatomically tailored fit with a single back piece folded into shape to provide structure and form, in the same type of durable material that epitomized the originals, with the goal of creating a cut perfectly balanced between vintage and contemporary. This jacket is made from an 18 oz. Anthracite Thornproof Hopsack Woolen Cloth that uses highly twisted 100% British Worsted Wool yarns in a double basketweave pattern to produce an amazingly durable fabric with a natural flexibility that is weather and tear resistant, with the ability to self repair when abraded. Thornproof tweeds have been used for hunting and riding woolens for over a century, providing outdoor protection for officers and gentleman alike. This particular iteration of the fabric was produced by Scotland’s Lovat Mill from 1826, as an exclusive development for MotivMfg in a refined version based on their production of military regimental tweeds with varied shades of grey, charcoal, and black woven into this neo-industrial, coal-colored woolen. This English Dress Hunt Jacket is designed with a peak lapel and rolling 4-button front to allow for dress-to-outerwear versatility, function, and style with a custom printed military map Tencel-Cotton blend fabric used for the half-lined body that provides a structured drape with mobility, along with Bemberg lined sleeves and a functional button cuff for practical refinement. Paying homage to the originals but elevated with tailored sophistication, this jacket has beautifully shaped and utilitarian pocketing like a welt chest pocket, two front welted pockets with flaps that will tuck in for different formats and functions, along with dual chest interior buttoned patch pockets for the tools of your trade. Further, this piece is packed with superior bespoke and old world detailing like felled seams, bartack reinforcements throughout, and genuine ebony horn buttons that have been sanded for a unique vintage matte finish. MotivMfg has re-established a pattern-to-bespoke garment one-roof workshop in Beijing with the ethos, process, techniques, and materials of Savile Row to produce historically informed garments in styles and production methods lost by the west. We are honored to partner with MotivMfg to offer completely exclusive collaborations for a new and timeless uniform for the Division Road Army.

Based in a Beijing loft of a former factory built in the 1950s, all developments from sketch to garment are done within the MotivMfg studio. Using European tailoring methods...
