The Iron Heart IHJ-123-OD Work Jacket is an improved, modern version of the workwear original and serves as a heritage statement piece produced from a 14 oz. medium weight, sanforized and once washed Broken Twill Selvedge Denim from Kojima, Japan. Inspired by workwear mechanics jackets from the 1950's-60's, the Work Jacket features a tailored silhouette that allows for movement with a longer body to fall well below the belt line for modern-styled grit. A new fabric within the Iron Heart collection, this 100% cotton broken twill denim is a non-directional weave achieved with vintage shuttle looming that creates a zig-zag pattern and allows for greater flexibility and give. Produced with the signature dual twisted weft yarn method to add structure and a slub texture, this 14 oz. denim yields a unique and dutiful heritage style piece. Featuring a rope dyed indigo warp and a natural colored weft denim and given a garment overdye treatment with black sulfur, this steely charcoal piece will evolve into dark shades of blackened blues with subtle to high contrast fade patterns over years of hard use as intended. Created to be a functional outerwear piece from spring through fall, the Work Jacket features snapped flap patch chest pockets, welted D-stitched slash front hand pockets with twill lining, a two-way zipped front placket with an interior selvedge line, adjustable copper snapped cuffs and hem, and is finished with internal felled seams and chainstitched construction throughout. Iron Heart Outerwear sizing is graded in small increments. The 123J-OD runs on the small side of Iron Heart sizing and is made with a sanforized, once washed, and overdyed fabric with all shrinkage removed. With regular use, one can expect up to .5-1” of stretch in the chest over the long term. Consider going with the larger of your size range in Iron Heart or the next size up.
