Description

The Japanese Rough Check Flannel in Blue from Gitman Vintage is made from a heavyweight 100% cotton fabric with a classic large scale check plaid in navy, red and a vintage white overlay on a Blue field that results in another brilliantly updated, timeless pattern from Gitman. This durable fabric is produced in Japan on smaller looms using double and triple-stranded slub yarns for a heavily textured woven, which is then brushed for a worn-in softness, creating a shirt that can be worn as an overshirt or on its own. The signature length button down collar comes replete with Gitman's original details like chalk buttons, locker loop, and a final horizontal button hole in green thread. This piece comes in the new modern slim fit with a slightly less dramatic hem sweep and straighter body, as a variation to the signature fit that remains the same tailored "just right" cut for most body types. Gitman Vintage shirts are classic, simple, original and have a casual sophistication that make them a standard wardrobe piece for many well-dressed men. We are unique in our offerings of Gitman Vintage by neck sizing for all you gents who are between alpha sizes; you now have the opportunity for a perfectly-fitting Gitman right out of the box.

With his two sons, Alfred and Sheldon, he ran the factory as a contract shop up until 1978 when the Gitman Bros. brand was born. Today, Gitman Bros. is one of the last remaining American shirt makers with all manufacturing still based in the USA and made by workers who have been sewing clothing for generations, bringing all of their history...
