Description

The Oiled Mocha Rowdy Horsebutt Service Boot is an updated interpretation of Viberg’s original work boot, designed by company founder Edwin Viberg in 1931 and inspired by a standard issue military boot pattern used by several nations during WWII. This version of the Service Boot utilizes Horween's Rowdy, a combination vegetable-chrome tannage, composed of an assortment of century-old techniques, materials, and finishing on horsebutt hides to yield a remarkably durable and rare leather with extreme pull-up and patina qualities. The dense and tight grained horsebutt is fat liquored, mill dyed, and hand waxed with an emulsified oil blend that provides a finish designed to evolve to reveal grain character with each step. Fully lined and molded on the ever-popular 2030 Last for a sleek silhouette, this boot comes with an unstructured toe that complements the lower profile. Enhanced with the subtle touches of a straight cap toe and antique brass eyelets alongside the Crust CXL set-in tongue furthers a warm tonal palette. Meant to be worn in all conditions in a style that can fit everyone's collection, this Service Boot is assembled with stitchdown construction by Viberg's exacting craftsmen sitting on a natural midsole and Dainite sole. Finally, the Vintage Rowdy Horsebutt Service Boot is hand waxed and conditioned at the Viberg factory for even another layer of finishing for those looking for boots that will gain character and change dramatically when worked hard by the roads ahead.
