Viberg Service Boot - 2020 - Leather - Italian Port Horsebutt
The Italian Port Oiled Horsebutt Service Boot is an updated interpretation of Viberg’s original work boot, designed by company founder Edwin Viberg in 1931 and inspired by a standard issue military boot pattern used by several nations during WWII. This version of the Service Boot utilizes a charcoal-based brown Port Italian Horsebutt from Maryam Tannery that has the inherent shell-like qualities of immense structure and durability in a heavy hide form that will mold to the foot while maintaining a semi-dress shine and finish. This leather is vegetable tanned to maintain the natural feel and dramatic, unique grain character of the horsebutt hides, while being single-struck dyed with a natural core that will reveal and bronze through heavy wear to a rich, burnished patina that will correspond with any ensemble. Molded on the newly developed 2020 Cantilever Last that grips and hooks with the anatomical shape of the foot to provide a comforting fit in a sophisticated officer-dress silhouette, this boot is completed with a brogue cap toe, dull nickel eyelets, a natural midsole, and a stacked leather sole with a dovetail heel that will form to any gait while serving as an elevated resource in any rotation. With each piece carefully assembled by exacting Viberg craftsmen using stitchdown construction, this is perfected footwear designed for those looking for a collectible Service Boot that will age and evolve uniquely to the wearer while remaining both timeless and highly utilized within any vintage-inspired modern wardrobe.
