The Derby Shoe was developed from recently discovered pattern designs produced by Viberg's founder, Edwin Viberg. True to the original half-century old vision, but improved with several iterations on the pattern and now in its final adaptation with a lower quarter, improved fit, and French Binding, this well refined version is about as perfect as it can get. This shoe comes to fruition in a classically versatile yet very special Calfskin from a storied tannery in the UK that embedded a high content of oils and waxes into pronounced grain hides in order to yield a flexible leather that will patina richly over time. This Derby utilizes the 2030 last to give it a sleek silhouette and is paired with the Vibram 2060 sole to have commanding presence and comfort. Setting the bar even higher, the Derby leverages both Goodyear welting using traditional techniques and channeled insoles by Viberg’s exacting craftsman to produce a shoe that will pair with any casual ensemble for the life of the wearer.
