MP Sherman - Northwest - Vibram 4014 - CF Stead Flint Waxed Kudu

$785.00

Description

The White's x Division Road CF Stead Flint Waxed Kudu MP Sherman is a 6" pattern that honors the rich history of Otto White's footwear production for military serviceman and is based on WWII infantry field and officer dress boots. This MP Sherman comes with a plain toe and a split counter and pull loop configuration for a fully functional, clean composition that will offer daily duty in a modern world from the office to the outdoors. This White's collaboration uses a Division Road exclusive Flint Waxed Kudu produced by the storied C.F. Stead, known for making some of the finest leathers in the world. This leather is an aniline dyed combination re-tannage using hand-selected wild African Kudu antelope hides that are remarkably flexible, strong, and have distinct grain characteristics, enhanced with a subtle wax application that yields a matte finish with pull-up qualities and an added layer of protection. This boot is designed in collaboration with Master Shoemaker and now CEO, Eric Kinney, to hallmark the quintessentially Northwest multi-paneled upper that allows for comprehensive rebuilds and pairs with White's exclusive stitchdown construction tradition using their unique hand-sewn and all-leather builds, all refined with our functional design approach that honors the original craftsmanship, history, and lifetime durability with a fresh perspective. This MP Sherman uses the Northwest Last in an accommodating E width that gives a sleek, low-moderate profile to an elegantly classic round toe shape with an accommodating forefoot that matches a wide variety of feet, with a lower heel equipped with a trademark Arch-Ease leather shank support offering a more approachable break-in to a fully functional work boot. We exclusively enhanced White's hand-sewn welted methods with a tonally corresponding Natural CXL welt to match the natural finished leather midsole, set atop a Vibram 4014 Christy industrial sole for all-purpose comfort that's combined with a single row, hand-sewn stitchdown to allow greater flexibility and a clean aesthetic for the long haul. Finally, this exclusive MP Sherman is finished with a half bellows tongue, nickel eyelets, and a custom White's collar stamp and WB x DR collaboration insole stamp for refined elements on a rugged make. Made as a hallmark to White's unaltered, hand-sewn traditions and customized to Division Road specifications, this MP Sherman has a polished aesthetic for urban environs, built for all conditions in the outdoors.

    Notes

This is a hand-sewn, hand-welted stitchdown workwear boot made to withstand a lifetime in challenging conditions, with a focus on durability first. Irregularity is indicative of this rare boot-making process, and as such, each pair is unique. We suggest our customers embrace the character, hand-grade details, and variation of this footwear, as that is what makes it special. This product is not for those seeking a highly refined or lighter-weight build. For more information on White's production, see our White's Factory Tour.

    Sizing

White's sizing is consistent to our old grade manufacturers and the Northwest Last in an E Width typically is equal to a White's 55 Last, Viberg, or Tricker's for most feet. Generally when sizing for White's, we suggest you select a half (.5) size down from a common US boot like Red Wing or Alden, or one-and-a-half (1.5) sizes down from a common US sneaker like Nike or New Balance.

    About White's

The White’s legacy began in 1853 when Edward White created a solo boot making venture in pre-Civil War Connecticut shoeing loggers and soldiers. His son, John, briefly took his master craft to the Shenandoah Valley region of Virginia in 1880 before relocating the business in 1900 to the Pacific Northwest where it remains today. In 1910, John’s son Otto grew the family business into the White Shoe Company based in Spokane, Washington. The White family built a reputation for producing... View All White's Products
