The De Bonne Facture x Division Road Olive and Khaki Cotton Twill Maquignon Jacket by De Bonne Facture is inspired by a studio portrait of the Dutch painter Corneille, a co-founder of the Cobra modern artistic movement originating in the late 1940's known for redefining western pictorial norms and the use of vivid colors. With a focus on sustainability through natural fibers and production techniques that connect the garment to the landscape, this Maquignon Jacket is made from a 12 oz. Brushed Drill Twill milled by Brisbane Moss® in the UK using 100% Organic Cotton in a new vintage patchwork panneled design that alternates a warm Khaki and dusty Olive for a versatile and tonal heritage-meets-fashion outerwear piece. To create a vintage aesthetic with a pure provenance, De Bonne Facture used this heavy duty military style fabric with a pronounced twill weave that has been brushed for comfort and flexibility, with a structure that conforms to the body and will patina when worn as hard as intended. With a minimalist design approach inspired by vintage fashion, each element carries thematic consistency and purpose with details like set-in sleeves for a classic silhouette, patch front chest and slanted lower hand pockets, an interior chest pocket for devices and keepsakes, and high character genuine horn buttons utilized on the front placket and cuffs. This piece pays homage to the original jacket style worn by eastern French horse traders.
