Viberg Service Boot - 2045 - Commando - Black Waxed Flesh

Service Boot - 2045 - Commando - Black Waxed Flesh

The Black Waxed Flesh Service Boot is an updated interpretation of Viberg's original work boot, designed by company founder Edwin Viberg in 1931. A similar pattern was used by many countries as a standard issue military boot during WWII. This exclusive-to-Division Road version was designed as an homage to military service men and how they treated their footwear for endurance in the trenches. This boot comes in a Black Waxed Flesh leather produced by Horween in a similar process to Chomexcel, though a wax application is used during the tanning process on the roughout side that yields a leather with water-resistant properties designed to patina by revealing the nap of the Natural CXL leather over prolonged use. Utilizing the 2045 Last gives the service boot pattern a silhouette similar to the original Boondocker, with a classically-shaped work boot look that matches perfectly to antique brass eyelets, a natural midsole, and an historically appropriate commando sole. With each piece carefully assembled by exacting Viberg craftsmen using stitchdown construction, this military-informed Black Waxed Flesh Service Boot is an excellent addition to anyone’s collection, to be used unsparingly from forest to street applications.

For those who are buying Viberg for the first time, be aware that they fit closer to UK rather than US sizes. As a general rule when sizing for Viberg, we suggest you select (1) size down from a common US boot and shoe, or (1.5) sizes down from a US sneaker. The 2045 Last is wider in the toe box area, and for narrow feet a (.5) size down may be required from the more common 2030 Last.
