Viberg Officer Boot - 2030 - Leather - Shinki Camel Latigo Horsehide
The Viberg x Division Road Camel Latigo Horsehide Officer Boot is based on the combination of vintage British dress and officer boot patterns from the early 20th century, which features a high quarter with a back stay over counter construction to yield a downtown appropriate aesthetic crafted with an outdoor build. This military dress iteration of our exclusive pattern adaptations on the Brogue Boot utilizes a limited batch, full-weight vegetable-tanned Latigo Horsehide from the venerable Shinki Tannery in Japan that specializes in hand finished horse hides. This brightly drum dyed Horsehide has been mimosa bark tanned and air dried, causing the leather to become more dense while accentuating the uncorrected grain, and is then hand oiled and waxed through the glazing and finishing process to intensify the natural characteristics of the leather and provide flexibility. Further elevating the military archetype in this cleanly designed style, we utilized the signature 2030 Last originally inspired by a Canadian officer dress boot form that has a low-profile silhouette with an accommodating E width forefoot that tapers into a moderate waist and heel. This new collectable classic boot is enhanced with French binding and refined with complementary brass eyelets, a natural leather 360 storm welt and midsole atop a stacked leather sole with a dovetail heel to command the attention that an officer requires. Setting the bar even higher, this boot leverages Goodyear welting using traditional techniques coupled with channeled insoles produced by Viberg's exacting craftsmen, resulting in a piece that will outlast the enemy through every season and conflict, while looking as good as any 'General of Gear' should and could.
