The Iron Heart IHM-34-ODG Field Coat is an improved, modern version of the old school military original produced in an 11 oz. heavy duty Whipcord twill that has been sulfur dyed in Olive to patina over time, and is lined with a cotton/wool blended blanket stripe body and hood for insulation and heritage styled comfort. This war-ready piece with new vintage appeal is an elevated reproduction based on the harsh weather coats introduced in 1951 for the Korean War, which remained in use by infantry and officer personnel for decades. This Whipcord is fashioned after military-grade fabrics made from a hearty cotton in a hard twisted yarn that's woven into a twill to create a corded ribbing affect while adding durability for a clean canvas that will subtly evolve with the heavy use this piece is intended to endure. This specialized M-51 Field Coat utilizes this structured material with an improved modern fit that keeps a proportional silhouette while allowing for increased mobility and layering versatility with darted back shoulders, set-in sleeves with quilted satin lining, and articulated elbows. Furthering a tribute to the military original through enhancements and considered Iron Heart craftsmanship, this coat comes with a concealed Permex snapped storm flap and above military grade two-way YKK zipped front, dual zipped welt chest pockets and concealed snap storm flap welted hand pockets, button tab adjustable cuffs, a signature split fishtail center vent, along with drawcord adjustable hood, waist, and hem.
