The Studio D’Artisan D1840S Easterner Trouser is made in an adapted Relaxed Tapered fit with a true mid-high rise, featuring a roomy seat and thigh with a strongly tapered leg and a narrow hem. This trouser is produced from an exclusive, sanforized and washed 12 oz. Japanese Canvas Cloth traditionally dyed using the Kusaki-zome dyeing method that has been passed down since ancient times in Japan, using Kakishibu natural persimmon extracts and tannins originally used for dying Samurai and Yamabushi garments in the Heian period. While embracing ancient pigments and techniques from the East to produce a fabric that will oxidize and fade to a dramatic degree, these pants were designed to pay homage to the American West by representing the delightful irregularity provided by nature and wear patterns achieved from a harsh lifestyle. This D1840 Easterner is a style forward heritage collector’s item coming in SDA’s refined Relaxed Tapered fit with a higher rise and more drastic taper to the leg that accommodates thicker calves while maintaining a narrower hem.
